Recital Etiquette

  1. Please arrive a few minutes early in order to get settled.
  2. Please dress neatly. Sneakers, jeans, shorts, and T-shirts are not appropriate.
  3. Please remain seated and plan to stay for the entire recital. If you must get up during the recital, please enter and exit between performances. If you have younger children with you, please sit so that if necessary, you may exit quickly and quietly.
  4. Students have been working on being good, quiet listeners in our group lessons. Many pieces performed are very short. Talking and moving about are distracting to the performer and audience, and can cause some audience members to miss the entire performance! Please be a polite listener.
  5. If an emergency makes it impossible for you to arrive on time, please wait until the performer finishes before finding a seat.
  6. Flash photography is prohibited during a performance. If you wish to take a photograph, please wait until the student has finished the performance.
  7. Cell phones, pagers, and other electronic devices should be turned off during the performance
